| The Department of Business Law at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenuretrack faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach business law and have research interests in those areas relevant to our programs. |
| Job Description/Duties |
| In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online and will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. |
| Job Criteria |
| Required Qualifications: • J.D. or J.S.D. from an ABA-accredited law school at the time of application • Admission to a state bar at the time of application • College or University-level teaching experience in law or legal studies • The candidate must have either (a) received a J.S.D. within the past five years, or (b) published two articles in a law review within the past five years. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience practicing law • A Ph.D., LL.M., M.B.A. or other graduate degree in business, economics, or real estate from a college or university accredited in the United States • Law review membership, and/or experience as a law clerk at the appellate level in the United States • Ability to work collaboratively to support the department and the college • Evidence of effective engagement OR potential to engage with a diverse student body • Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students • Experience creating a student-centered learning environment • Research/Lab experience that includes working with students from diverse backgrounds • Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring |
| Salary Range/Hourly Rate |
| $105,000-$118,000 |
