The General Counsel’s Office allows a mix of in-office and remote work for this position.

The Port of San Diego (Port) is seeking a seasoned attorney with a practice focus in real estate to join their General Counsel department of 13 people and support the fourth largest port in California. For over 50 years, the Port has developed and promoted commerce, navigation, recreation, and fisheries on and around San Diego Bay. This self-funded Port is San Diego’s gateway to the world. Job Criteria
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience:
• Graduation with a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, and
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in the practice of law, including substantial experience with real estate transactions.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
• Current membership in good standing in the State Bar of California and admission to practice before the State of California and federal courts.
• A current, valid California Class C Driver License at the time of appointment and maintained at all times thereafter in order to operate a vehicle on District business.
Salary Range/Hourly Rate
$205,091 – $305,256 DOE/DOQ

• LONGEVITY PAY: 2.5% of at year 10; 5% at year 15; 7.5% at year 20; 10% at year 25

• TUITION REIMBURSEMENT: $2000 per fiscal year.
• EDUCATIONAL SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP: 15% tuition reduction on every course taken at National University & waiver of application fee.
